Start investigating any ethnic customs or cultural traditions you might want to incorporate into your ceremony or reception.

Traditional Korean wedding ceremonies consist of many events however in America the main tradition that most people follow still today is a ceremony called Pyebaek.

Paebaek
is taken place after the wedding, the bride and groom sit together and pay their respects to the groom's family. The mother-in-law throws jujubes into the bride's skirt at this time, thus giving them the good wish of having many children. Jujubes signify riches, honor, and male heirs in Korea. Though westernized weddings are common in Korea, this custom is always performed afterwards. Because this is a family-only event, tourists are not allowed and is not a part of the wedding reenactment.

Now a days people have been making this ceremony more of a casual celebration for all of their guests to enjoy. It's a 30 min open show where the bride and groom wears their traditional dresses and bow to their elders.

are nightmares before your wedding normal?

Gosh... I couldn't get up this morning because I was in a deep sleep having a nightmare about my wedding. I dreamt that today was my wedding day. I didn't even remember until the morning that today was my wedding day.

Last night was a normal day and for some reason I was with my bridesmaids. We drank a little and so we all passed out at my parents home. The next day we woke up and it was my wedding day! The bad thing was I was still at the point where I am now with my wedding planning stuff. I had nothing prepared.

I was so frantic about my hair. I told my sister that I was going to take a shower and when I get out I'd do her make up after I finished my own. I asked her if she could find a hair stylist online and see if they can come right now to my house. It was chaotic. I was stressing out because then I realized that we didn't book a florist or our band yet either. The I was wondering where my photographer was. I realized that he was probably at the hotel where we were supposed to get ready at but hadn't booked a room yet. Then I woke up feeling sick yet thankful that it was all just a dream.

That was crazy... I never thought i would have a nightmare...

Studio Q

Our coordinators had told us that we really need to act fast and narrow down a photographer. Before we made any decisions we wanted to meet with some Korean photographers in LA. Henry and I didn't have any appointments made but luckily all the photographers we wanted to meet with were available. All the photographers we met with were fantastic. They all had wonderful photos and great packages. Making a final decision is hard but we had to do it. We did it... we finally made up our minds and decided to go with Studio Q. The lady there was so nice and she gave us an offer we could not refuse.

Clearing my thoughts~

Wow... what a weekend. It just flew by. I went to San Francisco with Jody, Grace and Hanna. It was a nice to get away and get my mind off of weddings. Jody and I had a long drive up there and back down so the weekend just flew by. But... it was all worth it because we got to spend quality time with each other and talk about what's on our minds. It's wonderful to have friends who will be there for you when you need them most.

When planning a wedding i think it's very important to take a couple of days for yourself and relax. Planning should be fun and not so stressful all the time.
